Nothing playing

Lights out, the blanket is heavy as lead,
Then the static begins, inches over my head.
A high-pitched needle, a phantom in flight,
You're the master of warfare, the king of my night.
I swing at the dark, but I hit only air,
You're mocking my pulse from your secret lair.
I hear you buzzing! (I hear you!)
Circling the light of my sanity!
I hear you buzzing! (I hear you!)
A demonic hymn to my vanity!
Show yourself, you coward, you winged little lie!
I'm losing my mind to a two-millimeter fly!
The walls are closing, the fan is a blur,
But I still hear the ghost, that tiny soft purr.
You land on my knee for a second of rest,
I freeze like a statue, put my heart to the test.
I strike with the force of a hammer on steel,
But you slip through my fingers—none of this is real!
I hear you buzzing! (I hear you!)
Circling the light of my sanity!
I hear you buzzing! (I hear you!)
A demonic hymn to my vanity!
Show yourself, you coward, you winged little lie!
I'm losing my mind to a two-millimeter fly!
Where are you? (Buzzing... buzzing...)
Under the pillow? (Buzzing... buzzing...)
In my ear? (Buzzing... buzzing...)
I can't breathe! Make it stop!
Buzzing!
I hear you buzzing!
Got you.
(Buzzing...)
